Joms Salvador

(Ms) Joms Salvador is Vice Chairperson of GABRIELA, the biggest and broadest organization of Filipino women that has for four decades worked for the advancement of women’s rights and welfare. Joms has been active in the women’s movement working with grassroots urban and rural communities in the Philippines for almost three decades. She started her activism as a university student, where she became member and later National Chairperson of women youth organization GABRIELA-Youth. She joined GABRIELA in 2007, served as its Secretary General for a decade, and was elected Vice Chairperson in 2022. Joms is part of APWLD’s Women Interrogating Trade and Corporate Hegemony Programme and Organising Committee. She was also a member of APWLD’s Programme and Management Committee and the Regional Executive Committee for six years.

Joms is also a writer, educator, cultural worker, and mother to an eight-year old girl.
