‘Central Asian women migrants’ Caravan of Resistance and Inspirations
The workshop will focus on addressing the following key areas:
Systemic issues affecting women migrants, particularly internal and returned migrants, including intersectional issues like domestic violence among women migrants;
Evaluation and enforcement of national, subregional, and international regulatory frameworks aimed at safeguarding the rights of women migrants;
Development of strategies for engaging women migrants and migrant rights organisations at the Central Asian subregional, regional, and international levels, along with tactics for enhancing collaboration and fostering movement building among migrant groups in the subregion while also establishing connections with other migrant movements in the Asia-Pacific region;
The workshop will explore the following questions:
What are the primary issues and recommendations voiced by women migrants and migrant rights organisations that we aim to address?
What strategies and actions can we implement to strengthen collaboration and promote movement-building among migrant rights groups, including engagement in various advocacy spaces?
How will we strategise our engagement and advocacy efforts as a Central Asian women migrants’ movement?
What steps will we take to advance our engagement in spaces and activities aimed at advocating for the collective demands of women labour migrants, including internal and returned migrant categories?
