Workshop

Women Rise Up: Agroecology Practices of Rural Women in Asia

by Pesticide Action Network Asia, the Pacific (PANAP) & Asian Rural Women’s Coalition (ARWC)
Day 1 3pm 2 hours English

Rural women are building agroecology in everyday practices – as seed savers, nurturers of safe and healthy food, promoters of climate-resilience and protectors of land, waters and biodiversity.

This workshop will tackle the principles behind agroecology and sharing of rural women’s initiatives and best practices from seed saving to harvesting and marketing, and producing healthy and diversified food to ensure food security and climate resiliency at home and in communities. It will also highlight women as frontliners in agroecology, a growing social movement challenging and fighting corporate control in agriculture.
