Workshop
Unmask and Unpack: Revealing the dark side of digitalisation towards women workers
by Maristela P. Abenojar, Filipino Nurses United (FNU); Wong Luk Yung, Hong Kong Women Workers Association; Samphous VON, Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association; Leah Emily Minoza, Nonoy Librado Development Foundation (NLDF)
Key questions:
What will the future of work and workers’ rights look like in the age of digitalisation?
How do the shifts towards digitalization including automation impact the rights of women workers to fair employment in Asia and the Pacific region?
Additionally, how do current neoliberal policies and globalisation exacerbate the challenges of digitalisation?
What advocacy space and collective demands should be established to address these obstacles and protect women workers’ rights, ensuring decent work and the right to organise, freedom of association (FoA), and collective bargaining?
