Workshop

Feminist Storytelling with Khabar Lahariya

by Khabar Lahariya
Day 3 11am 2 hours English, Hindi

What does it mean to tell our own stories? When stories are told, whose voices ring the loudest? Who determines which of our stories are amplified or even valid? These questions are not new, the answers far from simple.

Stories wield immense power, and in this workshop, Chambal Media invites participants to explore the intersection of storytelling and feminist advocacy. We believe learning from a feminist perspective begins with first recognising our positionality—where we are coming from, the power we hold in those places, the various identities that have shaped our perspectives of the world around us, and the ways in which this influences how we approach and interpret the experiences of others.

For over two decades, Chambal Media has been producing and disseminating stories of women with consistently high social impact and customised outreach for rural, urban and global audiences. This workshop is informed by our storytelling practices which are intersectional in its design and perspective, grassroots first, and where the most marginalised have agency to critically think, tell and act via their own story.
